Our Kit Reuse Partnership with AFC Wimbledon Foundation
Turning Unused Kit into Opportunity
At Kit Revolution, we see it every day.
Sports kit that’s still in great condition being used for a fraction of its potential life. Boots outgrown after a single season. Training wear worn only a handful of times before being set aside.
At the same time, families and grassroots teams are navigating ongoing cost of living pressures, with the cost of kit increasingly becoming a barrier to participation in sport.
The issue isn’t a lack of kit.
It’s that too much perfectly usable kit isn’t being used for long enough, or by enough people.
That’s why we’re proud to launch a new kit reuse programme in partnership with AFC Wimbledon and Fair Game a collaboration that shows how reuse can work practically, credibly and at scale within football.
This programme represents an important step forward in extending the life of sports kit and making access to sport easier for more people.
A shared belief in access and responsibility
From the start, this partnership has been rooted in shared values.
AFC Wimbledon are a club with deep community roots and a strong commitment to doing things differently. Fair Game continue to champion fairness, sustainability and long-term thinking across the football pyramid. At Kit Revolution, our focus has always been on turning unused kit into opportunity.
This alignment created the right conditions to put a practical solution in place with Kit Revolution providing the digital infrastructure that enables kit reuse to happen in a way that is simple, credible and impactful.
What we’ve launched together
At the heart of the programme is the AFC Wimbledon Foundation KitHub powered by Kit Revolution.
The KitHub enables two clear and impactful forms of kit reuse, while also generating funds in support of the AFC Wimbledon Foundation’s work.
Firstly, official AFC Wimbledon kit that is no longer required by the club can be made available for reuse, extending its life and keeping it in circulation within the community. This process generates funds for the AFC Wimbledon Foundation.
Secondly, supporters can use the KitHub to upload sport kit and clothing from home, allowing it to be reused by someone who needs it. Supporters can choose to retain the funds generated through resale, or donate them to the AFC Wimbledon Foundation to further support its community work.
This isn’t about producing more kit.
It’s about unlocking the value of kit that already exists socially, environmentally, and in support of community work.
The programme is delivered in support of the AFC Wimbledon Foundation, ensuring that kit reuse contributes directly to improving access to sport at a local level.

Why this matters
Cost remains one of the biggest barriers to participation in sport, particularly for children and young people but it also affects individual participants and supporters at every level of the game. The cost of kit is often one of the first hurdles people face when trying to take part or stay involved.
By enabling kit reuse in a simple and trusted way, this programme helps reduce that barrier while also addressing the under use of existing kit across the game. It gives supporters and participants choice and flexibility, allowing reuse to become a normal and accessible part of participating in sport.
"This is what meaningful reuse looks like in practice. Practical. Accessible. Embedded."

From storeroom to community
What makes this partnership especially important is that it has been designed for long term use.
The kit reuse programme launched with AFC Wimbledon has been designed to be:
- Simple for clubs to adopt
- Flexible for different communities
- Scalable across football, with the potential to extend further over time
By working within existing operational models, Kit Revolution’s digital infrastructure makes it simple to integrate kit reuse into club and foundation operations enabling surplus kit to be redistributed from storerooms to the communities where it is needed most. That’s how lasting change is created: by embedding reuse into established processes rather than requiring entirely new ones.
Our role at Kit Revolution
At Kit Revolution, we provide the digital infrastructure that makes kit reuse practical at scale.
Our platform helps clubs and foundations redistribute quality kit efficiently, integrating reuse into existing operations and ensuring items move from where they are no longer needed to where they can make the greatest impact.
This partnership with AFC Wimbledon demonstrates how clubs can unlock the value of the resources they already have when the right systems are in place.
What comes next
AFC Wimbledon are leading the way as the founding club partner for this programme, and we’re proud to be working alongside them and Fair Game to demonstrate what kit reuse can look like in practice.
This launch marks the start of a wider approach. As we continue working with clubs, foundations and partners, our focus remains the same: making sport more accessible by putting existing kit back into use.
Kit reuse doesn’t have to be a future ambition. By engaging with the Kit Revolution platform, clubs and communities can put it into practice now.
